Cakes are special. Every birthday, every celebration ends with something sweet, a cake, and people remember. It’s all about the memories.Buddy Valastro
I’d like to share with you some of the celebratory moments in my life over the last month. A picture is worth a thousand words. That’s why I love capturing precious moments with my camera. Blessings and enjoy!
Anniversary Celebrations
We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary, by going on a coastal tour, we drove through Mystic (CT), Misquamicut Beach (RI), Watch Hill Village (RI) (where we saw Taylor Swift’s mansion), and Newport (RI).
We ate lunch at a quiet bistro in Newport called- Joe’s American Bistro. We ate Fried Oysters (appetizer), New England Clam Chowder and a Fried Eggplant Sandwich (me), Salmon (my husband) and a Grand Marnier Torte for desert. Everything was really yummy. Still tasting it in my mouth.
We had delicious farm fresh ice cream at Buttonwood Farm, where we got to hang with some very relaxed cows.
Father’s Day Celebrations
A Father’s Day Breakfast made by me and the kids. The middle dish is a broccoli pie (broccoli, cheese, potatoes), with a top layer of sausage, onion and egg. I kind of made up this dish. My husband loved it. Yeah me! To it’s left is what we call in Barbados, Sweet Bread (known as Coconut Bread in America).
Then we went to visit Bumblebee and his friends at Diroma’s Home & Garden Center. Bumblebee is a Koi who comes up to kiss your hand when you put it in the water. That was really cool!
Some inspirational art in their gift shop I really would like to buy. I especially love the giant Sunflower.
Father’s Day Fun in Niantic (CT)
The Book Barn– the most awesomest, coolest, most magical, fantastic, whimsical used book store I have ever been to. I could spend a whole day there. I can’t wait to go again.
Father’s Day Lunch at Dad’s Restaurant. We had a Fried Oyster Dinner (me) and Shrimp Dinner (husband), and onion rings on the side. Delish!
A walk on the boardwalk in Niantic Bay. Saw a drawbridge (Niantic River Bridge) go up and down, a quiet train (Amtrak) passing us by, a flying Geico ad and more.
We bought fudge, ice cream, white chocolate and vintage postcards (I collect postcards) from a really awesome ice cream/50’s diner/candy shop called Gumdrops & Lollipops.
I Love Niantic.
A Birthday Celebration
A made from scratch (cake & frosting) by the older kids & I, number three shaped birthday cake to celebrate my son’s third birthday.
Wow, you all have been having a lot of fun! The food pictures are great!
Thanks for checking out my Sunday Show ‘n’ Tell post this week. Many blessings to you.
Latisha, this brought back so many memories for me! I just relocated from RI to the Midwest this past year! And Mystic, CT was one of my favorite places to go with my husband! (there is a huge, old beautiful cemetery there as well that we loved to visit and read the inscriptions on the gravestones). I’m glad that you had such a wonderful time! The Lord bless you and your family! Blessings also on your new baby; it’s so good to have you back!!! :-)
