Blessings and happy Saturday to you. Thanks for coming out to TGI Saturdays # 57. What you are reading here is a post I wrote and scheduled way in advance to when it is published. Why? Because, I’m about to have my 6th baby and delivery day is getting close. So I’m taking it easy as I countdown to bringing home baby. If all goes well, this will be the 5th child to actually come home with us and be a part of our family. Our 3rd born passed and now lives with our Heavenly Father.
This post is a part of a 4 1/2 months series of pre-scheduled posts called “Saturday Inspirations,” pre-cooked posts in a virtual freezer, only to be thawed on their scheduled publish date. I hope this post finds us all well today.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

This was a verse my daughter had to memorize, as a part of her bible curriculum in Second Grade, when we were still homeschooling (boy, I miss it). I also later used that verse to encourage her a few times in her early singing in front of a big audience (church and singing contest) days.
I want my light to shine for others and I want to ignite the fires in my children’s hearts and keep them lit brightly as well. Only God can give us the power to do that in this dark world. Our light has to shine from our hearts that are filled with faith, hope, peace and love, and not with fear, worry, anger and hate. I can only shine beauty (faith, hope, peace, love), if I set my mind on beautiful things (whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things-Philippians 4:8) .

Latisha – What a wonderful poem and post. I am so glad you were able to schedule everything in advance so you could rest and enjoy this time as you prepare for your newest family member. I let my light shine for Jesus by speaking words of encouragement to people I meet who may or may not know Him yet.

My daughters and I are worship leaders for the kids worship team at our church, and our theme lately has been, “Look up, Reach out, an be Bright!” Watching little kids sing “This Little Light,” and praise God singing and dancing around with such joy, is something so special! Thank you for bring these joyful thoughts to the front of my mind, today.
Love this verse in Matthew. My daughter is overcoming huge stage fright this year between singing with the worship team and competition dance. I’ll keep this verse in my back pocket for her.
