Hello friends,
How do you do? I hope all is well today and you are really enjoying the change in season and weather. I’m writing you this post from your past, my present (January 14th, 2016). This post will be officially published April 8th, 2016.
I am currently preparing a batch (19 weeks worth) of pre-scheduled post in a series called “Saturday Inspirations.” I’m doing that because, in my present I’m about 2 months away from giving birth to my 6th child, the 5th to be placed in our family’s care (one of our children God chose to take care of Himself in Heaven). So I’m preparing for a big blogging break.
Nevertheless, I really wanted to keep the TGI Saturdays momentum going, while I’m on break, so week after week these pre-cooked, pre-scheduled post will come down from my “virtual freezer” to keep you inspired, encouraged, uplifted and sharing your best posts with the TGI Saturdays Family.
Today is our 63rd week of TGI Saturdays. Yeah us! Thanks for dropping by, hope you enjoy.
Feel free to drop me a line via my comment box below, because I’ll be still looking out for those. They would truly be a blessing for me.
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Matthew 6:19-21 (NIV)
I wrote a poem a while back called “Treasure Box,” that I’d like to share with you today. It’s simply a poem that asks the question, what do you treasure? What are your treasures? I don’t have much to say about that. I know what my treasures are, do you?
Treasure Box
One man’s garbage is another man’s treasure
Isn’t that how the saying goes?
So what are your treasures?
What means the world to you?
What do you value most?
Is it the offspring from your womb?
The golden sun, the stars, the gleaming moon
Or is it the smell of morning dew,
that you most value?
Is it the money in your pocket,
Or the pictures in your locket?
The physical things you own
Or to you, when kindness is shown?
Is it climbing up a tree,
Or the calming sound of the sea?
The buzzing of a bee,
Or holding a newborn baby?
What makes life worth it?
Worth it all in the end.
Is it the love of God, family and good friends?
I know what is in my treasure box
I’ve put things in perspective
Love is the biggest treasure of all
Love is my main objective
Loving life, living life to the fullest
Loving the treasures all around.
All God’s blessings abound
These I treasure more than man-made things to touch
I treasure God’s gifts that are free for all
And valued so very much

Were just a few short days away from the arrival of our newest family member. Today I am treasuring family. Wishing you a blessed weekend and thanks for hosting!
Hi Jed,
Congratulations on your new upcoming family adventure. I pray God takes great care of mommy and baby during Labor & Delivery, and your family welcomes a healthy and strong baby into this world. Blessings to you, your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Latisha, I hope you’ve been doing well!
I have so many things to be grateful for. One of the things I treasure is the opportunity to speak about God freely. I’m very grateful to live in a country where God is still in schools and in workplaces, where I can openly share my faith. It might seem like a small thing, but it is something that I never want to take for granted.
Hi Marva,
I don’t think that’s a small thing at all. That’s one of our greater treasures, definitely not to be taken for granted. Blessings to you and thanks so much for sharing.
Hey Latisha –
I have to say, there are many things I treasure but right at the top of the list, is my family! I pray you are doing well with the new addition to your family and enjoying your time away from having to write blog post right now – You are such a smart woman to have pre-scheduled and written so many posts! Thanks for hosting – looking forwarding to hearing from you soon.
