Quote of the Day:

And I know what I have to do now. I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?
Chuck Noland- Character from movie Castaway

Poem of the Day:
Good Morning Sunshine

A brand new morning
A brand new you
A brand new day
There are lots to do

A brand new hello
Another chance at life
Another morning to put up a good fight
Another opportunity to do it right

Thank you, Jesus
It’s because of you
Another morning
To do what God ask me to do

Hallelujah
The sun is out

In Jesus name I’ve got to shout
Good Morning Sunshine
Welcome New Day

God’s Blessings
I pray
I’m awake
I’m alive
Another chance to live

This day I say
I’ll find my happiness
For no one, neither me
Knows what tomorrow brings

All I have is right now
To care for life
To care for me and my family
Good Morning Sunshine
Thanks for shining on me

Joke of the Day:

Police Emergency

This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he’d left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.

He immediately phoned the police, who asked “Is someone in your house?” and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.

George said, “Okay,” hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

“Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don’t have to worry about them now because I’ve just shot them all.”

Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George: “I thought you said that you’d shot them!”

George said, “I thought you said there was nobody available!”

Fun Fact of the Day:

It was discovered on a space mission that a frog can throw up. The frog throws up it’s stomach first, so the stomach is dangling out of it’s mouth. Then the frog uses it’s forearms to dig out all of the stomach’s contents and then swallows the stomach back down again.

Did You Know?

How come tears come out of our eyes when we cry?

What is amnesia?Tears flow from our eyes when we cry because they contain chemicals and hormones produced by our bodies.

When we become upset, our brains and bodies overreact and work overtime by producing chemicals and hormones.

Crying helps eliminate these extra chemicals that we don’t need.

The chemicals and hormones disappear from our body through the form of tears. As our tears flow, they sooth our sadness or distress by withdrawing these chemical agents.

That is why many people feel calmer or more refreshed after crying–because the tears get rid of these hormones that are produced when we are sad, happy, or distressed.

This Day Back Then!

1926 – Actress Mae West was arrested on this date for “corrupting the morals of youth” for her play Sex. Allegedly, she “gyrated her navel seductively” during a belly dance performance. West was also the playwright of the scandalous production.

1986 – Former Mr. Universe and international movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger, age 38, married Maria Shriver, news journalist and the only daughter of Sargent and Eunice Kennedy Shriver. The wedding was a fairy-tale event, with an exclusive guest list. The opulent reception was held in two tents on the grounds of the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
