Hello Friends2

Hey everybody! Happy Saturday (or whatever today is). I hope your week was blessed and that with God’s mercy, guidance and protection you have managed to overcome any challenges that came your way. If you are still dealing with big or small challenges today, please remember that God’s got your back and He will see you through to the end of this maze.

Speaking of maze. How has your Fall season been going so far? Have you been able to check off some of the things on your Autumn wishlist/bucket list as yet? Are you decorating or baking? Doing Fall themed art projects with the kids? Are you watching Fall or Halloween themed movies? How is your Fall looking and smelling? What Fall fun have you been having lately? Yes, I really do want to know.

Last weekend, my family and I were able to experience something we have never experienced before but I always wanted to try. We carved our very first pumpkin. Using a carving kit that came with a book of pumpkin carving stencils, we carved an image of a bat (which is the stencil my 5 year old son chose and insisted we use), and our beautiful pumpkin sat on our front step alone all week long.

However, we got two new friends (pumpkins) to join him this weekend and boy do they have character. I choose them myself. We got them from a farm and not a supermarket. Awesome! I had lots of fun carving my first pumpkin, my kids did too. Can’t wait to do it again this weekend. I loved looking at our beautiful orange bat face pumpkin sitting on our beautiful red step of our beautiful yellow “sunflower” house that God has blessed us with the privilege to live in for however long He ordains.

Last weekend, my family and I watched a movie I first watched when I was a kid- “Ernest Scared Stupid,” a fun and ridiculous kind of scary. I could live with that.  I don’t really enjoy true blue scary movies at all. My kids enjoyed the movie.

This week, I bought a few Fall decorations to decorate our front porch this weekend, I’m very excited about that because this is our first Fall in our new home. No, I’m not into Halloween decorations so much. It doesn’t really suit my personality, I like happy things not scary.

Okay, here’s another million dollar question. Are you on the love it or hate it side of the Candy Corn spectrum? Either way, I’ve got a post for you. I would just love it if you check out my latest post “30 Things You May Want to Know About Candy Corn.”

I don’t hate candy corn, but I really can’t eat too much of it in one go. It’s quite a month full of sugar.

Don’t forget, I’d love to hear about the types of Fall Fun you’ve been having before you go.

Blessings and Happy October to you! See you next Saturday!

30 Things You May Want To Know About Candy Corn

Hallmark this weekend

I don’t get to watch television as much as I use to, but there are two channels I highly enjoy watching and I set my DVR to, every time there is a new original movie on their schedule. I’m talking about Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Lately, These channels have been doing an awesome job in providing lots of good clean, inspirational, romantic content for a woman like me to watch. Do you watch these channels?

So some great news! Hallmark Channel will be premiering a new movie or two every weekend from September 19th to Valentine’s Weekend 2016.

Last week I watched second movie premiere of Hallmark Channel’s Fall Harvest movie line-up “Harvest Moon.” No surprise here, but I enjoyed it very much. It was very sweet. I got to watch it on a quiet Sunday afternoon  (DVR playback), while my big kids were doing art projects in the dining room and both little ones were napping. I looked out my window every once in a while, and saw leaves were falling and my neighbors were putting up really fun Halloween decorations with their kids on their front lawn. I had a small handful of Candy Corn and I just took in this “ah, mommy Hallmark movie watching happy Fall moment.” It was a true blessing.

This week I also watched  Beverly Lewis’ The Reckoning , starring Katie Leclerc (Switched at Birth), a follow up to The Shunning and The Confession which premiered on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries last Sunday. I liked it, although it kind of threw me for a loop, how quickly and nicely everything got wrapped up in a pretty little really happy ending bow. What am I complaining about. That’s what I like about Hallmark stuff. Truth be told though, this one felt too quickly and cleanly wrapped up. I didn’t see the ending coming in the way it came.

Okay, so what next. This weekend Hallmark Channel will continue it’s Fall Harvest  with the premiere of “October Kiss”, starring Ashley Williams, (tonight) Saturday, October 17th, 9p.m/8c.

Then on Sunday, October 18th, 9p.m/8c Hallmark Channel will premiere a new movie from their Jesse Stone movie series starring Tom Selleck-  Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise.

Hope You Tune in!
